I know that starting off a taco blog at a chain is a bit vanilla, but I just decided to put this to "paper" as it were today so give me a friggin break!
I arrived at Tijuana Flats on Roosevelt Boulevard in St Petersburg, Florida at 6pm on a Tuesday. Finding it to be an unexpected bustle of activity I was not stopping now.
The line almost to the door, I was greeted by a very lovely young lady named Lexi asking if I would like a beverage while I waited in line. I agreed a Samuel Adams Summer Ale would be the perfect start to my Taco Tuesday. I liked that I was able to talk to someone before I reached the counter.
Only minutes later I was making my order with beer in hand to one of the three registers open. Again greeted with a smile and a cheerful attitude. This really goes a long way with me.
"The Taco Tuesday Special Please" Both chicken with everything on them (lettuce, tomato, sour cream and Jalapenos). I choose flour over wheat tortillas just to get a baseline going here.
There is a Hot Sauce bar available to use at your own accord.
Each hot sauce is labeled and tagged with a smiley face to elude to there spice factor. This practice is VERY helpful. Word of warning, If you see a black face with 2 X's as eyes..... OUCH!
The tacos were fresh, quick and very affordable. Nice atmosphere on the patio and service rocked
I will most defiantly be back for a Tuesday taco fix.
